Nativity of Our Lord School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Achieving the standards established by the commission allows us to provide you with confirmation that not only are we a quality school, but we are committed to continued development and improvement.
Our faculty, parents and students take great pride in the spiritual, moral and academic accomplishments of our school community. Many of our graduates have excelled in high school, most notably in Math, Science and Language Arts, often receiving numerous scholarships and awards. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
Prior to 2001, the United States education curriculum model was to
teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics separately and
independently.
Since then research has shown
that to remain competitive in the global world of economies and to
sustain/improve our standard of living for generations to come, we need, as a
nation, to remove those traditional barriers.
We need to begin the transformation of the
typical teacher-centered classroom curriculum into a curriculum that is driven
by problem-solving, discovery, and exploration learning. It is essential for our
students to be actively engaged in a situation in order to find its solution.
Our goal was to build new standards for our
students. To integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into
our core curriculum. For our students to understand that in real world
situations those four core disciplines provide the foundation for an advanced
society.
