CLASSROOM NOTES: 

1. PLEASE!!!  Label your children's things including uniforms. We are already looking for a boy's short sleeve Land's End white polo. It was worn home by the wrong child after our first PE class on Thursday.  Thank you.
   
2. Spelling tests will be on Fridays, with pretest on Thursdays. The words for the next week will be on the back of Friday's test so you can practice them for a week.
   
   
3. Vocabulary words are in the blue marble school lined notebook.  The beginning of the year, the children will learn to read these words as "sight" words.  After Christmas, we will begin to use them in sentences.  I will check the words on Wednesdays and give the new words on Thursdays.
   
   
4. Please practice math facts every day for a few minutes.
   
   
5. Please send in snacks-pretzels are best! We won't have a snack calendar.
   
   
6. Please send in hand sanitizer. It was omitted from the supply list.
   
   
7. Please help your child be organized and responsible with his/her homework and belongings. Please make sure EVERYTHING, including uniforms, is labeled.
   
   
8. Read with your child every day and praise all the small successes. Enjoy your child-this is such a fun and fleeting age!

Dear Parents, This year our class will be participating in the Pizza Hut-Book It Reading Incentive Program. I encourage you to help your child make the most of this program.  Each child should read (or be read to) 15 picture books or 15 chapters of a chapter book per month, from October through March. When your child brings his/her list of books read, s/he will receive a certificate for a personal pan pizza. Thank you for your cooperation! The First Grade Teachers
